The Wisdom Tooth Extraction Process
When removing your wisdom teeth, we will first need to determine if they have partially erupted or are impacted. If we can see even a small portion above the gumline, we will perform a simple procedure that essentially elevates the tooth from its socket before gently moving it back and forth until it detaches. This is considered the easiest option.
However, because some wisdom teeth can remain beneath the gumline (impaction), some instances require a more surgical approach. In these instances, we will need to open the gums and expose the underlying teeth.
